ABOUT
Emily is a mixed-media artist living and working in Evanston, Illinois. Her practice moves between found-object assemblage and graphic abstraction, appropriating and subtly altering everyday materials to construct layered visual narratives. Her work examines relevance, obsolescence, and the passage of time through the reconfiguration of technological fragments and material systems. Familiar forms are held just outside their expected roles, where fixed interpretations begin to loosen.
Working across scales, from intimate tabletop pieces to expansive hanging installations, she combines assemblage and painted surfaces within compositions that evolve through subtle shifts and accumulation. Fragments of poetry and commentary appear sparingly, embedded within the work as part of its structure.
